dance as art

Canvas aims to create performances that challenge contemporary social codes and explore the relativity of human experience by connecting and confronting people with different believes, experiences, views, traditions, etc.

Throughout their work Canvas approaches art as “a doorway into different perceptions of reality”.

By looking at elements of daily life from different perspectives and giving space to let the

imagination flow, their work is like a voyage to this world through a reflection of a “twisted mirror”.

Canvas Performing Art was founded in 2001, Arnhem –Netherlands by Attila Gonczi, Lorenzo Borella, Cecilia de Lima and Harry Abbink.
Canvas works on a regular basis with two choreographers/artists: Attila Gonczi and Cecilia de Lima, and several artists coming from different artistic backgrounds.
